Vintage Violet

This is a grey-violet that is wonderful for use in atmospheric skies and in moody landscapes. It is useful in capturing the muted violet in several varieties of flowers, and for rendering shadows in many types of subject matter.

Artist’s Notes: Vintage Violet is more muted than any of our other purples and violets and can be easily used for shadows. Applied heavily it is a deep, smoky plum, while used in washes it
appears more grey.

Paint Maker’s Notes: Vintage Violet is made with multiple pigments. The name is a nod to
downtown Regina’s own Vintage Vinyl, a place where THIS paint maker spent a spectacular
amount of time as a teenager.
